Jennifer Fontius, MD
Family Medicine
WELCOME!
Dr. Jennifer Fontius opened her solo practice in February 2011. She provides a wide scope of services including adult and pediatric care, routine gynecology, and minor surgeries.
The advantage of a solo practice is its ability to provide more personalized service and focus on patient care rather than administrative processes. It provides greater flexibility and is more accommodating for individual patient needs. In addition to routine visits, time is allotted each day for same day appointments so you can be seen quickly for urgent matters. Our goal is to provide outstanding medical care and customer service.
Our services include:
-
Treatment of children, adolescents & adults
-
Routine care
-
Pap smears, routine gynecology
-
Annual physicals/preventative visits
-

-
Minor surgeries
-
Cryotherapy (freezing) for warts, skin lesions
-

DIRECT PRIMARY CARE
I have transitioned my practice to a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. I have decided to make this change because I want to be able to spend more time with my patients and practice more integrative care rather than practice medicine under the dictates of third parties who do not always have patients’ best interests in mind. I hope you will join me in this transition to a more personalized and comprehensive approach to your healthcare.

What is a DPC?
Direct Primary Care is a business model that allows primary care physicians to offer their services directly to their patients—without an insurance company in the middle—in exchange for a monthly or annual fee (typically $50-150 per month). The membership fee allows the patient to access a variety of primary care, including consultations, exams, telemedicine, and care coordination.
Benefits of the Direct Primary Care Model
A direct primary care model allows physicians to spend more time with each patient: Roughly 30-60 minutes per visit, as opposed to 12-15 minutes per visit in a traditional clinic that relies on health insurance reimbursements.
Because they don't deal with health insurance paperwork or bureaucracy, direct primary care facilities spend less time and money on administrative tasks. Patients get to pay one monthly fee and have all of their primary care covered, without having to worry about deductibles or separate co-pays for each service.
And because doctors don't need to worry about whether a patient's insurer will cover telehealth services, direct primary care memberships allow patients to access care via phone calls, email, or video chats, all of which can be more efficient and convenient than in-person consultations, depending on the situation.
You can still use your insurance for specialists, labs, prescriptions, etc.
While our office will not be contracted with insurance or Medicare, you will still be able to use those benefits for prescription medication, labs, imaging, and office visits with specialists.
HSA and FSA accounts can be used to pay for member dues.
